The Building

Annswell Court is a 3-storey building overlooking a wooded area and golf course on the east, and a short block from Yonge Street to the west.

There are 39 self-sufficient 1 & 2 bedroom carpeted apartments at Annswell Court. These consist of 28 one-bedroom units, and 11 two-bedroom units. All have full kitchens, bathrooms and either a balcony or a patio. 10 ground floor suites on the east have walk-outs to patios as do 4 west facing suites on the second floor. All of the remaining apartments have balconies.

The building is heated by electric baseboard. Tenants can adjust temperature in their units. Many tenants have air conditioning units - either portable or window units.

Accessibility

We have 3 units which are more accessible. A limited number of units have been modified for individuals with physical challenges. If you require a modified unit, your doctor is required to complete a separate medical form.

There is an elevator and there are 20 parking spaces available for tenants. We rent 4 parking spots from the commercial property across the street for visitor use.

Rental Information

All 39 units have some degree of subsidy provided by the Annswell Court Foundation or the Regional Municipality of York.

20 of the units are designated RGI (Rent geared to Income). Rent is approximately 30% of income. 10 of those units are allocated through the York Region Housing list. (We recommend that if you are interested in this type of accommodation at Annswell Court, that you also add your name to their list at www.york.ca/support/housing/applying-subsidized-housing.)

In addition, 19 of our apartments are designated LEM (Low End Market) units, with current (2022) subsidized rents of between $1150 and $1300 per month. For more information and application information, please contact our office
